He Knows and He Understands

Good Morning Girls!  Today's 4 letter word is TIME.  I know many of you are thinking "time belongs in the bad 4 letter word list, because I never have enough of it".  Well, I am not talking about time as in how many hours you need in a day.  I'm talking about time as in how long it takes to reach your goals and see your dreams fulfilled.  For each goal, for each person, timing is different.  As a general rule, the bigger the goal, the longer amount of time it will take - with you working towards it the whole time.  I've had conversations with some of you about the frustrations we feel when we know God has put something in our hearts, and we are all excited about it, but we are not in any position to start working towards the things we know He has in store for us.  I'm speaking mainly about being a HomeMaker with young kids.  It is awesome that God has plans for us, but it is sometimes hard to enjoy being home and doing the "mom thing" when we want to be "out there" doing more.  Every time I experience this conversation with someone it seems like by the end, we all agree that we are exactly where we are supposed to be, and God is still using us, and we are doing the most important job there is.  However, there is that little bit of a sigh that seems to exhale from almost everyone, and we sometimes feel a little guilty about it.  A few nights ago I was reading in Luke 2 to Charley, out of her kids NIrV no less, when the Lord ministered to me about this issue of when, when ,when Lord?  I have been set free, and I pray you will also.  It was the story of Jesus and his family going into Jerusalem for Passover.  They all left after the festival and it wasn't until they were at least a day away that Jesus' parents realized he wasn't with them (now that isn't what is supposed to set you free, but if Mary can lose the Son of God, don't feel bad if you've ever lost your kid at the grocery store).  After searching all over, the found him in the temple listening and speaking with the religious leaders.  When his parents asked him why he had done this to them he replied "Didn't you know that I must be in my father's house?"  It says he then returned to Nazareth with them and obeyed them, and grew strong in the Lord.  Now this happened when he was 12 years old.  His ministry didn't begin until he was 30!  By age 12 his desire to be with God was so strong that he stayed behind to be with him in the temple.  Yet it wasn't until 18 years later that his ministry actually began!  Now, I know that Jesus didn't sin, that he was the perfect image of God.   However, I do believe, with all my heart, that there were probably times when he was sanding down a cabinet and praying "Father, when do I get to begin the "real" job you have sent me here to do?"  We all think the work the Lord has in store for us is important, and that is why we are so excited to begin it.  Can you imagine how excited you would be if your job was to SAVE THE WORLD! When you are feeling frustrated about the timing of things, cry out to Jesus, he will respond with compassion, for I truly believe He knows how you feel!  Until your time is here, do as Jesus did, and continue to grow and be strong in the Lord.

Galatians 6:9  So let's not get tired of doing what is good.  At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up!   (and what bigger harvest is there, than knowing you are doing God's will)

Love you all-
Jen
