This Will Make it Easier
Yesterday we learned in Joshua 1:7 that obedience to God helps us to be successful in all we do. There is just one problem, it is impossible to obey, if you do not know what the "rules" are. Can you imagine raising your child and expecting them to obey you, but never telling them what you expect of them? Every time they did something wrong, or against the "house rules", would it be fair to discipline them? How secure and loved would your child feel in a home that didn't give clear expectations and rules? Do you think that child would grow up and have the ability to make good choices, or would they just randomly do things and hope they got it right every once in awhile? Do you think they would seek you out for guidance when they needed direction? Of course not! Our heavenly Father, has shown us by example, how to have clear expectations for your children. He has all of His guidance, wisdom, warnings, and instructions, written down in one book. It is our job to read that book so we understand how we can lead successful lives. It is not enough to go to church once a week and get a little Word, and go about your week. No, you need to get in, every day, and find something new the Lord wants to share with you. The more you learn about Him, the more you will love Him, and the more you will want to obey Him. The more you love Him, the more you will see how much He loves you. You will then be able to see that His way is the best way, and you will not struggle as much when trying to do "the right thing".
Joshua 1:8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
