You're Someone Else's Car
Yesterday I told you to find yourself a pace car. Find one at the race, and find one in your faith. When you try to "keep up" with someone else, it helps you to work a little harder. Guess what, you are someone else's pace car! There are others looking to you to continue to run your race. Some of them are watching to see if this "Jesus thing" is really as good as you say it is. Some are watching and secretly hoping you quit, because that would mean they were right, and they don't have to change. You are most likely the pace car for many people that you will never even know about. That is why is it so important to keep moving forward! You may have to slow down, you may have to walk, but you have to keep moving forward. Anything other than forward motion is delaying your finish line! Picture yourself running your race, eyes ahead on your pace car, and suddenly, they go to the side of the road, stop, and say, "that's it, I can't do it anymore". That would cause your mind to wander and think "if she can't do it, how can I do it?". Have you ever had one of your Christian pace cars stumble? I have. It really threw me off for awhile. Praise the Lord, just like at a race, there are always others to look to to help you keep going. Girls, no matter what happens, you need to keep moving forward. If a 95 year old passes you by, don't give up! Remember, we all share the same finish line. You will see marathon runners stop for a second, throw up, and keep on running. They will wet themselves, and keep running (please don't do that on Saturday, it's only 2 miles). In your walk with the Lord, circumstances may cause you to want to step to the side of the road, and say, "that's it, I can't do this anymore!" Keep moving forward, the finish line awaits you, and by moving forward, you are strengthening someone else's faith!
1 Corinthians 9:26-27 So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself may be disqualified.
Love you all-
