Ready for a Bigger Bike?
What is your purpose? If someone were to ask you that question today, what would you say? Personally I find the question a little intimidating. I feel like I should have some grand answer of God's master plan for me. Well, I don't like being intimidated, (especially but a word), so I went to my buddy Webster, to see what is so intimidating about the word purpose. Here is what I found 1. the object toward which one strives for or which something exists; an aim or a goal 2. a result or an effect that is intended or desired. Well what do you know, it sounds exactly like what we've been talking about for the last 5 weeks! Bascially, your purpose and your goals are one in the same! You have a daily purpose, a weekly purpose, and a long term purpose. Now, take a look at the goals you set for yourself 5 weeks ago, and answer these questions: Are your daily actions driving you towards your purpose, or away from your purpose? Do you even remember what your purpose is? Have you seen results in your strive towards your purpose, or have you already given up? Do you wake up each day and make decisions that line up with your purpose? hmmmm....Did any of those questions sting a little? I intentionally used the word purpose, instead of goals, because it has a greater impact. To give up on your "purpose" sounds much worse than to give up on your "goals". I don't want you to feel intimidated, but I do want you to re-examine your goals and realize the importance of them. Did you already achieve your goal? Great job! Take a break......break is over.....Now make some new ones! If you didn't make any goals 5 weeks ago, go back 5 weeks in the blog and review the process and commit yourself to something. God has a purpose for all of us. He had our purpose designed even before he made the heavens and the earth! Ultimately it is God's purpose for us that we are to take hold of, and fulfill. However, it is my belief that the Lord will not fully reveal His purpose for you, until you have shown that you can take hold of your own goals, and plans, and stick with them until you fulfill them. Yes, He will use you and bless you now, but not to the extent that He will when you have shown that you are ready! Look at it this way, would you put your 4 year old on a 10 speed bike before they ever rode a bike with training wheels? Of course not. They couldn't handle it! So Girls, grab your training wheels, make goal driven decisions today, and soon, God will give you a brand new 10 speed!
