Are you Stuck?
I, the Mother and Wife have set out to learn the truth and meaning in life. This is what I have learned firsthand. Why even bother doing the laundry, it is impossible to catch up. Why bother dusting, it just settles back down as soon as you turn your back. Why bother disciplining your children, they just do it again. I have discovered that there are actually 3 PMS's, and I have them all. They are pre, present, and post menstrual syndrome. I have discovered this truth, if my husband unloads the dishwasher, he wants sex. I have found grocery shopping meaningless, as my family just eats the food and I have to go back again. Seriously, do you ever have days like that? Days where everything seems meaningless and futile? Days where you think of the things on your to- do list and say to yourself "what's the point?". I call those days "Stuck In Ecclesiastes Days". I remember when I first read the book of Ecclesiastes. By the third chapter I was thinking "This guy needs some Prozac". Then I went to the beginning of the book where it talks about what the book is about, and it warns you that you need to read it through to the end to see the point Solomon was making. Well, to be honest with you, I skipped ahead to the end, because I found myself getting a little depressed. I will spare you the agony, and tell you. Solomon is showing us that everything is meaningless without God. Money, fame, success, a small waist (okay I stuck that one in there), is all meaningless unless you have the one thing that gives meaning to it all! When I find myself "stuck in Ecclesiastes", I stop, thank the Lord for all He's done, ask Him to help change my attitude, and carry on with my day. Usually when I discover I am stuck, that alone makes me laugh and snaps me out of it. Now that you know the end, go ahead and read the rest, as it is actually very interesting.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 That's the whole story. Here is now my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone's duty.
love you all-
