Are You a Leg or a Shoulder Girl?
Good Morning Girls! As you all know, I exercise on a regularly basis. So do most of my friends. It's not that I only like people who work out, it's just that friends are often held together by similar interests, and one of ours is exercise. We like sharing with each other what new program we are trying and what successes and breakthroughs we have. We even share with each other when we quit and don't want to play anymore, and then we pick each other up and keep going. The funny thing about all of us, is that even though we all exercise, and lift weights, none of us look the same. I have one friend with these calves that are the kind that people actually have surgery to look like! Another friend has these quads that are well defined and nothing jiggles when she walks! Another friend has this awesome flat stomach that shows no sign of childbirth. Yet another has beautiful long tone arms. There is a cute butt girl, perky boob girl, nice back girl, and I am the shoulder girl. If you could take all of our best parts and put them together, you would have this years swimsuit cover girl! For now though, we each cling to our individual "gift" the Lord has given each of us, and continue to work hard to make it the best we can. More important than the physical gift the Lord has given us, is the Spiritual gift we have all been given. We all have different spiritual gifts, and we are all encouraged to use them. Romans 12:6-8 talks about these gifts. I encourage you to spend time with these verses to be able to identify your gift, and start using it! Once you have revelation of your gift(s), it is much easier to do the work the Lord has planned for you. It is important to be yourself, and not someone else. Other people are doing things according to their gifts. Don't try to be a "leg girl" if you have great abs. You will be frustrated and not see the fruit of your hard work! Just like you have to exercise your physical gift in order to see it, you have to exercise your spiritual gift as well. If you neglect it, nobody will know it exists!
1 Peter 4:10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.
Love you-
Jen
