You are a You!!!!
Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so........it doesn't matter what church you were raised in, almost everyone knows or has heard this song. It is sweet, it is simple, but more importantly it is TRUE! In the songs simplicity, we often get caught up in the cuteness of it and forget that this is in fact a serious confession. Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so. He loved you before you even existed. He loves you now. He will love you tomorrow. Nothing can separate you from Christ's love (Romans 8:35). How would you feel if you overheard your child telling one of their friends "I got in trouble yesterday, and my mom doesn't love me anymore". Suppose you overheard them saying this over and over. Wouldn't it break your heart? Wouldn't you sit there and think to yourself "how can she think I don't love her because of that silly mistake? Doesn't she remember all of the other things I do for her? Doesn't she believe me when I tell her I love her? How can one bad moment erase all of the love I have showered her with over the years?" Imagine how much more it grieves our heavenly Father to hear us say such things about Him. It says many times in the bible "God loves you" Guess what you are a "you"! It also says "God loves His people" Guess what, you are his "people" (or as a teenager would say, "you are one of his peeps"). If any of you are wondering if God still loves you, let me clear it up for you HE DOES! If you need proof, no problem, it is written in black and white throughout the Bible!
