Peace with Him

Good Morning Girls!  For anyone who is joining us for the first time, we are taking a look at the fruits of the Sprirt, as they are listed in Galatians 5:22.  Today we are moving on to peace.  Yesterday on the drive home from church I was thinking about what I would be writing regarding peace.  I was struggling a bit.  You see, I think most people would say that it is obvious that I love people, and it is obvious that I am a joyful person......but peaceful?.....Jen?  I don't know, I just have a hard time believing that anyone has used the word peaceful to describe me!  I was actually laughing at the thought of it, until I started to seriously wonder.....what am I going to write????  The Lord answered, "why don't you see what I have to say about peace?". "Great idea Lord..thanks for the help.......again!".   The first thing I realized is that I was confusing having peace, or being full of peace, with an outward "appearance".  It's true, there are some people who have a very peaceful demeanor about them, and you can't help but feel the peace and be comforted when you are near them.  In fact, Anne Johnson of LittleChurch, if you are reading this, you have a peace about you that has comforted me every time I have come into contact with you over the last 5 years!  I normally do not name names, but I believe it needed to be said.  There are very few people who actually have a calming effect on others(especailly me), and I believe it is a gift!   We have to have peace about a variety of things.  We need to have peace with ourselves, our family, our thoughts, our hearts, but most of all, we need to have peace with God.  Until you feel you have peace with God, it is hard to have peace anywhere else in your life.  I am talking about the peace that comes with knowing that you are in fact pleasing to God.  The peace that comes in knowing you are His child, and He loves you.  The peace that comes from knowing all of your sins are forgiven.  The peace that comes from knowing you will spend eternity with Him!   If any of you are struggling with any of these very true confessions, read todays verse and spend some time with Him today.  Peace with God is the foundation to peace with everyone, and everything else!

Romans 5:1  Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.

Love you all-
Jen
