Searching for Peace
Good Morning Girls! A husband, two kids, and a dog. Do those words conjure up images of peace? Some have asked me if I am still getting up early now that I don't have to be out the door by 7:45am. The answer is.....yes! One of the reasons why is the fact that it is the most peaceful part of my day. I get up, drink my coffee as I sit at the computer, then I get in my workout before anyone else in the house is calling out in desperate need of me. I used to say that I love sleep. I have found that I love peace even more. As much as I love being around people, I have discovered that I love being alone just as much (maybe I am just that entertaining). I now love the sounds the house makes (and doesn't make) in the early morning. I love it when Max whimpers because he is having a bad dream and his big paws start moving in his sleep (he sleeps outside the office door). I love looking out the window and seeing deer eating in the woods. I love the sound of the neighbors work truck start up and head out. I love running in the neighborhood where there are no signs of life (except for the 6 dogs that usually join me), and it somewhat feels like I live in the witness protection program. I love this time alone with the Lord so much, that last night I was feeling agitated and wanted to go to bed, not becasue I was tired, but because I wanted to get to my morning! I have learned the secret to having peace in my life.......you have to search for it. You need to find your own peaceful time and location, and then you need to protect it, and work to keep it as part of your day! Today's assignment...go on a treasure hunt in search of the lost peace!
