Please and Thank You
Good Morning Girls! I.......just......can't.......wait.....any.....longer.......I've got the peace that passes understanding down in my heart (where?) down in my heart (where?)down in my heart. I've got the peace that passes understanding down in my heart(where?)down in my heart to stay!!! Whew! Much better! True confession, I was singing Christian songs long before I was a Bible reading Christian. When I started reading the Bible I would come across a verse and my mind would start singing and I would think..."hey, I know that song!". You see, ideally, I would have first heard the song and said....."hey, I know that verse!". Take todays little diddy for example.. The peace that passes understanding..That is a scriptural reference! When I was 4 years old singing that song, I had no idea it was based on God's Word! In fact, I think I often sang these words.....I've got the pizza passing understanding ...I had no idea what pizza passing understanding was, but I liked pizza, so I figured it was a good thing! Now don't get me wrong, passing pizza my way is still a good thing, but having peace that passes understanding is even better! Do you know how you know if you have the peace that passes understanding? It's when you carry on with life with hope and in joy despite the circumstances around you. It's when you sleep like a baby when others would be awake pacing the floor. It's when you look in the mirror and see a child of God and not a scrunched up stressed out bags under the eyes reflection. It's when others say to you things like "I don't understand how you can be so calm right now, aren't you worried?". Do you know how to get the peace that passes understanding? It is the same principal we learned when we were 2 years old. They are the 2 "magic words" as Barney used to say.....please and thank you. Too bad Barney didn't know the 3rd and most important special word.....prayer!
Philippians 4:6-7 Don't worry about anything, instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need (please), and thank him for all he has done(thank you). Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Love you all-
Jen
