DANGER!

Good Morning Girls!  When I finished my blog yesterday, I sat at my computer and stared at the scriptures I had studied on patience, and wondered "what am I going to write about this week?".  Nothing was coming to me.  I usually have an idea what is going to happen for the week, and then I let the Holy Spirit shape it each morning.  Well, yesterday, I felt I had nothing.  I know that I struggle with being impatient, and I do know that is not good, but there was this part of me that kept asking "is it really that big of a deal?"  I spent the morning in prayer asking the Lord to show me what He wanted us (especially me) to learn about patience.  I asked Him what the big deal really is.  This is what He said "you cannot understand the importance of patience until you understand the danger of impatience!".  Wow!  The impression was so strong, I thought I was going to pass out.  Danger?  Now that caught my attention.  I spent an unbelievable morning with the Holy Spirit filling up 2 pages of notes, so rest assured we have this week covered!   What happens when we become impatient?  Many times we take matters into our own hands.  Take Sarah and Abraham for example.  Sarah so desperately wanted children, and the Lord wasn't responding fast enough,  that she had her servant sleep with Abraham.  And then when Hagar did in fact get pregnant, Sarah was mad at Abraham, Hagar treated Sarah with contempt, and it was the beginning of the ultimate family feud!  How about Leah and Rachel?  They were in such competition for Jacob's affection that they both gave their servants to him to sleep with.  Still, everyone was miserable.  Everyone except Jacob I imagine who probably thought "this sibling rivalry thing is AWESOME!".  You see, when we take matters into our own hands, we do get results.  However, often they are not the results we were looking for.  They are results based on human efforts.  They are not God's best.  I'm sure none of you have given your husbands another woman in hopes that he will become more affectionate towards you, but what matters have you "taken into your own hands"?  Spend some time with the Lord today and ask Him if there is anything you need to turn back over to Him and wait patiently on.

Isaiah 30:1 "What sorrow awaits my rebellious children," says the Lord.  "You make plans that are contrary to mine.  You make alliances not directed by my Spirit, thus piling up your sins.

Love you all-
Jen
