When it's More Convenient.......

Good Morning Girls!  Here is our verse for today:
Acts 24:25   As he reasoned with them about righteousness and self-control and the coming day of judgment, Felix became frightened, "Go away for now," he replied. "when it is more convenient, I'll call for you again."

When it's more convenient....... Looks like that excuse has been around for thousands of years!  For those of you who are waiting for a "better time" to start doing something the Lord has put on your heart to do, let me give you a light bulb revelation.........It will never be convenient!   You will never have any more hours in your day.  You will never be less busy.  You will never look at your calender and see a blank page.   True, there are some times that are better than others, and you need to take that into consideration, but even then, it will not be convenient.   Chances are, when you start something new, you will have to give something up.   You may have to give up sleep, or tv, or eating out.  The truth is, the things you have to give up are not the things that are most important.  You may think they are, but trust me, they are not.  In order to get in my blog and my workout in the morning, I have given up evening tv.   When the clock strikes 10pm, I am passed out.  It takes Tom and I two nights to watch one movie because after 45 minutes, I am asleep.  Is this convenient?  Not really.  Is it worth it? Definitely!  I have learned that I actually am a morning person.  I love the 2 hours I have to myself in the morning to study and workout.  What did I have to give up?  Mindless tv that contains garbage that does not feed my soul.  I've also given up sleep.....sleep that I realize now I don't need because I have way more energy since I am finally taking care of myself.  Now don't think I am a Pollyanna here.  I still struggle with convenience.  Last night I was trying to "bargain" with the Lord and ask if I could do my blog last night and simply post it in the morning.  As you can see, the answer was "No".  Fair enough, I will obey, and I will be blessed for doing so.  Convenience, in most cases is really an excuse that covers up the real reason we do not try something new.  The real reason is........going to be discussed tomorrow. (but if you meditate on todays verse, I bet you will figure it out).

Love you all-
Jen
