Honor Them by Honoring Yourself
Happy 4th of July Girls! I don't know about you, but I woke up to a glorious morning and I am bouncing off the walls to get outside and run! But first, you are on my heart, and I feel the need to get on a little preach this morning. How you feel about that? We left off yesterday with an assignment. We are going to continue that assignment thru the weekend as I'm sure many are not checking the blog this weekend and I do not want to move forward without anyone. Please continue to watch the words that you speak over yourself, both out loud and within. If you catch yourself in a negative, apologize and say something positive. I think a few days of this will give you a good idea of just how much mental purging you may or may not need to do. Now the negatives aren't only about your weight. It is anything negative. So, whether you burn the burgers, can't get up on the water ski's, lose at every yard game played at the picnic, or eat too much, you are to talk nice to yourself! This includes making jokes about yourself and disguising your pain and embarrassment with humor. Ouch, I'm taking away all of your amour aren't I. Stick with me girls, and in the end, we will no longer need it. So here is the preach I have on my heart.....we are truly blessed to live in this country. Now, whether or not you agree with how our country is being run, and some of the conditions within, I hope you can all agree that we are blessed. (and if you don't, please do not bother commenting to me as I refuse to get into a political debate with anyone). What it is often easy for many of us to forget, is that our freedom came with a high price. Over 2000 years ago, Jesus died on the cross so we may be free from sin and death. Over 200 years ago, and every day since then, men and women from this great country have fought and died so that we may live in a country where we can praise and worship Him. With all of these lives being given up for me, how dare I trivialize their death by putting myself in bondage. How dare I make myself a prisoner of my own mind and thought life? And so today, and every day after, I will honor those who have died for me, by truly enjoying and appreciating my life and my freedom. I will purpose each day to use my freedom to improve the lives of others. To those of you who have served this country so that I was able to read my Bible this morning, and type this message: I thank you, and may God Bless You and Your Family!
This blog is dedicated to B.J. Beardsley, beloved father, husband, and son. May I honor you today with right living and right thinking.
Galatians 5:13 For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
Love you all-
Jen
