When The Going Gets Tough........

.......the world tends to waver.  So you've made your commitment.  You've chosen something to start (or stop) doing.  You are feeling good.  You are feeling strong.  You are feeling confident.  You are feeling victorious.  Then suddenly you are faced with a situation that throws you off track.  Suddenly you are feeling weak.  You are feeling discouraged.  You are feeling timid.  You are feeling doubt.  You begin to waver.  You start asking yourself  "Did I really hear the Lord right, or did I somehow miss the mark?"  Our flesh is weak, and it is always looking for a way out.  Wavering is one of the tricks our mind plays on us when our body is telling our brain "I want to quit!".  The Word warns about the dangers of being a double-minded man.  When you find yourself questioning your goals you need to check your motive.  Are the questions stemming from the fact that you are realizing the hard work involved, or the commitment required?  Are you wavering because you realize there is no quick fix, and that you need to make right choices day after day in order to become the person you want to be?  Are you wavering because you no longer believe you are capable of making the changes you set out to make?  If your answer to any of these is yes, you need to stop yourself now, and get back on track.  You need to go back to your reasons why you made a commitment to yourself.  You need to look at where your old patterns of behavior were getting you.  You need to look at those you admire and remember the hard work they put in before becoming the person they are today.  You need to ask yourself "do I want to change, more than I want to stay the same?"  If the answer is yes, then you need to hold tightly without wavering.  If the answer is no, reflect a little harder on your goals, and ask yourself again.  You cannot always trust yourself, but you can always trust in the Lord.  If you are off with your commitment, He will get you back on, and it will not be in the form of a wavering mind.  He will make it clear to you!  Trust in Him and hold tightly to your goals!

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promises

Love you all-
