I've Tried This Before!!!!
Good Morning Girls! I hope you all followed through with yesterdays assignment, as we are building on it today and the rest of the week. If you did, you should have your answer. You should have your goal. You are aware of what you need to start (or stop) doing for yourself. Most likely some of you aren't thrilled with the answer the Lord gave you. Maybe you feel you are not ready to make such a change. Maybe you simply don't want to make such a change. Or for many, maybe you have tried to make this change before, and have failed. Nobody enjoys feeling like a failure. The thought of attempting something that you have previously failed at can be discouraging right from the start. It is hard to take the first step when all you can think about is how you bombed the last time. I'm going to let you in on a little secret: nobody is successful with everything the first time around. We all have our "stuff". We all have things that come easy for us, and we all have things that we stumble over time and again. It took me years to finally get to the point where working out 5-6 times a week is as natural (on most days) as brushing my teeth. It is just part of my life. I don't always enjoy it, but I always do it. I actually have a hard time falling asleep if I don't do it. It hasn't always been that way. Over the years, I would have weeks of success followed by weeks of nothing. I would have to start over time and again, each time feeling a little more frustrated and angry with myself. It felt like such a waste of time. Still, I kept at it. I felt so much better when I did because I knew I was supposed to. Still, time and again I would let life get in the way, and find myself back to the beginning. I kept starting over again and again and guess what....I am finally there. Now don't get me wrong, I still have to talk myself into it some days, but now I talk myself into it, instead of excusing myself out of it! Don't go thinking I am perfect. This is just one area I have conquered. There are still plenty I have not! Just so you know, these assignments are for me as well. So what made this last time successful for me? I quit coming up with my plan, and asked the Lord for His! His plan is always better. He knows the obstacles we are going to face before we do. He knows our strengths and weaknesses better than we do. He knows the temptations that are going to hit before we do. Why not ask the One with the right answers the best way to reach our goals? Take some time today and ask Him the best way to achieve the goals He has placed in your heart.
