More Precious than Diamonds!
Good Morning Girls! So, were any of you daring enough to dig into yesterday's assignment? If you didn't read Mondays message, go back and do so as we are building from there.
Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies! Before we dive into what a Proverbs 31 woman aka a "real woman" looks like, I want to get something straight. You are more precious than rubies. The message translation says diamonds! As we look at the Proverbs 31 woman, regardless of how much your life does or does not resemble hers, please understand this....you are more precious than diamonds! That is the first thing mentioned in the description of the wife of noble character. To me this means that above all else, above all her duties and responsibilities, above all of her strengths and weaknesses, above all her failures and accomplishments, the most basic and important truth for us to understand before going further is that we are all more precious than diamonds. What do we need to do in order to be considered more precious than diamonds? We simply need to be virtuous and capable. Virtuous and capable. To be virtuous means to have moral excellence. Well Girls, if you are reading this it means that you are seeking knowledge of the Word, and you are striving to learn how to be the woman God intends you to be. That my friends is behavior of a virtuous woman. Websters defines capable as: having the ability required for a specific task or accomplishment.
Notice it doesn't say that you have to be using that ability. It simply says that you have the ability. (hopefully you desire to use that ability, but we'll get to that later). Notice the Word does not say "Who can find a wife who is who perfect, flawless, and never makes mistakes?" No. It simply says a virtuous and capable wife. So girls, if you are seeking moral excellence (even if you fall short of it sometimes) and if you are able (even if you aren't currently using your full abilities), than let me tell you again......you are more precious than diamonds!
