Prepared and Fearless

Good Morning Girls!  Proverbs 31:21 She has no fear of winter for her household, for everyone has warm clothes. Living in Minnesota, this can be interpreted for just what it says....be prepared for winter.   However, I believe there is much more here.  First of all, if we are simply to have warm clothes for our family, it would read  "She is prepared for winter."  But it doesn't.  It says "she has no fear of winter".  There is a big difference between not having fear, and being prepared.  Winter is a season.  It happens every year.  Sometimes it is mild, sometimes it is fierce.  Either way, we know it is coming.  Our lives are filled with seasons.  Our marriage has seasons. Our parenting has seasons.   The economy has seasons.  Lord knows our hormones have seasons! Everything has seasons.  We are told throughout the Bible that we will be faced with seasons of trials and tribulations.  When it says she has no fear of winter...for everyone has warms clothes, I believe God is telling us that a woman of God, a real woman, does not fear all the different seasons her life goes through.  Whether it's a global or a personal season, she is not moved.  She is kept warm by the promises of God.  She is prepared for the fierce seasons, and will not lose heart.  She is not scampering around when crisis hits, trying to muster up some faith like some women flee to Target when the school finally sends a note home saying "Timmy will no longer be able to go to recess until he has mittens".  No.  A real woman is prepared for the fierce season.  She has her resources in place.  She knows the Word.  She speaks the Word. She prays in advance for strength during hurricane season.  She thanks the Lord and delights in the summer seasons.  She loves and praises God regardless of the season she is in.  That, my girls is what a Real Woman does.  Now go make sure your kids have mittens......

Love you all-
