The Promise Keeper

Good Morning Girls!  I didn't write yesterday.  I simply promised to be back today, and left you with a verse.  I believe you logged on to your computer today, expecting to see a devotion.  You expected me to be back.  You may have wondered yesterday why I didn't write.  Was I sick?  Was I too busy?  Did the words not come?  You may have given it a quick thought, but then you moved on, and patiently waited until today, when there would be one.  You trust me enough to know that if I say I will write, i will write.  You didn't allow it to change the way you felt about your day, or me.  Why is it that you believed me yesterday?  For some of you it is because you personally know me.  You know I am a woman of my word.  For others it is simply because for the last 300 days I HAVE written daily, 5-6 times a week.  So, why would I suddenly stop?  I have earned your trust.  I have a solid track record with my writing.  Do you know who has the only 100% track record of keeping their promises?  That's right, God.  He is not man.  He will never go back on His word.  He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  When He says He is going to do something, He does!  It may not be when we want.  It may not be how we think.  In His way, at His timing, His promises will be fulfilled!  I did leave you with a verse though; Hebrews 10:23 let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.  I learned from my Daddy that the best way to get through the day, especially when things don't go according to our expectations, is to meditate on a verse.  He has taught me over the years that He wrote all of these verses long ago so we can hold on to the truth and be encouraged while we wait for our promises to be fulfilled.  He wants us to hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm (know to be true), and He provided us with a book full of examples of His work to encourage us!

Romans 15:4  Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us.  And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for Gods promises to be fulfilled.

Love you all-
Jen
