Day 1- Love is Patient
Happy New Year Girls! For those of you who did not read the last blog, we are starting a new series today. I am starting the Love Dare. It is a 40 day marriage challenge based on the movie Fireproof. Each day I will start by reviewing my experience of the previous days assignment. I will then give you the current assignment. Anyone who wants to do it with me is welcome! This is an undercover challenge (doesn't that sound more exciting). In other words, your hubby should not know you are doing this. You should not say "today I am not going to say anything negative to you because that is the assignment in my book......I'll just save it all for tomorrow!".
For those of you who were hoping I would start the new year off with diet and exercise motivational blogs, you can go to my other blogspot, as I will be writing a daily devotional there. It will not be as personal as what you are used to because my target audience is different. I'm sure there is a short to it, but the way I know for sure to get to it is to go to www.transformation.com. Click on community. Click on blogs. My blog comes up on the first or second page. If you have any questions, just e-mail me.
Here's todays assignment:
Although love is communicated in a number of ways, our words often reflect the condition of our heart. For the next day (today), resolve to demonstrate patience and to say nothing negative to your spouse at all. If the temptation arises, choose not to say anything. It's better to hold your tongue than to say something you'll regret.
Questions to think about:
Did anything happen today to cause anger toward your mate?
Were you tempted to think disapproving thoughts and to let them come out into words?
Hey girls, can I just say that is is a cruel twist of fate that this is day one.....New Years Day when my spouse will be watching football for the next 16 hours......criminy....is it too late for me to change my mind?
James 1:19 Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger.
Ok girls. We can do this! Love you all....can someone please pass the duck tape?-
Jen
