Day 4-Love is Not Rude
Good Morning Girls! You may have noticed from the title that I am doing day 5's assignment today and tomorrow I will do day 4. I am doing this because it seems more appropriate for the days of the week. It will make sense when you see the next assignments.
Yesterday we were told to speak no negative words and to buy (make, or do) something nice for our spouse. I know exactly what I am going to buy, but I never left the house yesterday so I didn't get it. I'm not sure if I should have simply made a special trip or not. If I would have Tom would have said "why are you going today when you will out on Monday", and so it didn't seem worth it to go. I was nice and refrained from any verbal sarcasm that was there. And there was some there. I'm not going to go into detail but it was one of those days when I felt he was being selfish....how great it that on the day that is titled "Love is not selfish". I held my tongue, and in the end, I still think he was a little selfish, but at least we didn't have a fight added to it!
Today's assignment is one that I am not looking forward to. Tom hates this kind of stuff. He is going to think I am setting him up for a fight. He does not do well with these types of conversations. I will pray for right timing, and right words. I will follow through. After all, it is called the Love Dare......I'm always up for a Dare!
Assignment:
Ask your spouse to tell you three things that cause him to be uncomfortable or irritated with you (questions like these will be the first thing on his list!). You must do so without attacking them or justifying your behavior. This is from their perspective only.
Questions to think about:
What things did your spouse point out to you that need your attention? How did you handle hearing it? what do you plan to do to improve these areas? Ouch.....have fun!
Ecclesiates 10:12 The words from the mouth of a wise man are gracious
Love you all you little dare angels (devils didn't sound right)
Jen
