Day 40 Love is a Covenant
Good Morning Girls! Eleven years today I stood on the beach in Mexico and said "I Do". (well actually I think I said "si Senora" as we were married by a female Mexican judge). I have no ideas what the vows were. The whole thing was in Spanish and my brother in law read the translation. It was all so surreal that I haven't a clue what was said! I think I will look up our wedding stuff and see if I have a copy of the translation (who knows, maybe you had to pay extra to keep it).
How awesome is it then that the Lord has blessed us with a trip back to Mexico to celebrate our anniversary! How awesome is it that the Lord put it on my heart to do the Love Dare and told me when to take certain days off so that in the end I would finish the day before I left! And how awesome is it that in just 6 weeks I feel like my life, and my marriage have been shaken, stirred, and served straight up perfect!
I certainly have more love and more confidence this morning than I had eleven years ago. I have no fear. I have no last minute jitters. I have no thoughts of "Is this truly the right man?". I have nothing but excitement and belief that my life will never be the same.
When I first said "Si Senora", I didn't know the Lord. I tried to do marriage on my own, without the guidance of the One who teaches us how to love. No wonder I failed miserably. This morning, things are different. I have the Lord right where He should be, in the center of my life. In the center of my marriage. In many ways, today feels like my wedding day, for it is the first time I officially day "I do" to Tom, with the Lord in our presence.
So I will do todays final assignment when I get to Mexico. I will share with Tom, on the beach, what my vows are to him. I will tell him how much I believe he is a gift to me from the Lord and how I intend to lift him up every day for the rest of my life. I will share with him the renewed commitment I have towards him and towards us. I am so excited, I truly cannot wait!
Praise the Lord! How awesome is He! I am so thankful I had the ears to hear when He told me to do this Dare. How blessed we truly are when we obey and step out of our comfort zone. Please Lord, let me never forget how blessings and obedience truly do go hand in hand!
Girls, thank you for being here for me. If it weren't for you, I do not know that I would have had the resolve to keep going. It would have been easily to slowly quit. I wouldn't have had an outlet. I would have been stuck with all these wild emotions inside. I thank you all for what you have done for me......
...and with that, I have one final request. I ask that you continue to cover Tom and I in prayer. I pray this trip goes according to Gods will. I am aware of the devils devices, and I claim authority over our marriage. Please pray for us whenever the Lord brings us to your mind. Thanks in advance you mighty prayer warriors!
I love you all. I am not sure where the Lord is going to take us next. I only know it is going to be good!
See you in a week!

Assignment:
Write out a renewal of your vows and place them in your home. Perhaps, if appropriate, you could make arrangements to formally renew your wedding vows before a minister and with family present. Make it a living testament to the value of marriage in God's eyes and the high honor of being one with your mate.
Questions:
What has God revealed to you during the Love Dare? How have your views of your marriage changed? How committed are you to God and to your spouse? Who can you share this with as a testimony?
1 Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails!!!!!!!
