In Need of Some Help and Healing?

Good Morning Girls!  Over the last few weeks I have received a lot of e-mails from you Girls sharing your personal struggles with food and weight loss.  I have been moved as I read your stories, identifying myself in parts of each and every one.  Though this website was never started with the intent of being a "weight loss" website, I do believe it is time to turn some focus and attention in that direction. I pray that those of you currently have no "food issues", or desires to change your lifestyle are still able to use the stories and scriptures I share and apply them to whatever area of your life you may need encouragement in.

Please do not think for a second that I am in any way saying that everyone should be following my lifestyle.  I do not think everyone needs to lose weight.  I do not think "thin is in".  I do not think you are less than God's best if you currently have no desire to make changes.  I am not here to try to get you to make changes you do not want to make.  As I said in the start, I have received numerous e-mails and I feel in my heart it is time to start addressing them here rather than trying to e-mail everyone individually.  In fact, if you have questions, concerns, or areas of interest, please feel free to post a comment here (they will not be made public), or e-mail me personally at jgilbert2@comcast.net.  I will still respond to your individual e-mails, just maybe not the depth I have been.  If I am going to cover it here, I may simply respond with a short note and refer you here.  Sound good?

Before we go any further, I want to make sure you all understand one thing: God loves you!  This morning, today, as you are.  He loves you with all His heart.  He is not disappointed in you.  He does not think you are fat, disgusting, or out of shape.  He does not think you are a failure.  He is not waiting for you to lose weight before He can use you to do His work.  He is not sitting in judgment, wishing you would "get your act together".  No, as I said last week, He loves you.  He is here for us.  To encourage us.  To give us strength and support when we need it.  To give us rest and refuge when we need it.  To pick us back up when we stumble.  To cheer us on as we move towards our finish line.

Do you all receive that love?  Will you allow the Lord to heal your heart, your mind, your emotions, and your body?  Will you rest in Him today and receive what He has to give YOU?!  Will you take time to share your heart with Him today.  Cry out to Him and tell Him where you are at.  What your hearts desire is.  What you long for.  What you need from Him.  Ask Him to help you.  Ask Him, and receive.  It says in Luke 11:10: Everyone who asks, WILL receive.

For those of you who have taken on the task of weight loss before, you know that it is in fact one of the most emotional and physically challenging things you will ever do.  Well Girls, I am telling you, it doesn't have to be.  Yes, you will have to work.  Yes you will have good days and bad days.  Yes you will have feelings of joy, success, accomplishment, failure, and frustration at times (sometimes all of them in the same day), but it doesn't have to consume your life.  You can lose weight and enjoy your life in the process, rather than waiting until you can get those old pair of jeans back on.

But first, you need to realize that you cannot do it alone.  You can not do it out of pure will power.  You can not do it simply by reading this blog.  You need to go straight to the top on this one!  You need to go back 2 paragraphs and do todays assignment: ask the Lord for help.....and rest in Him until you receive it!  Meditate on todays verse and rejoice in the fact that today everything changes!  You can and you will accomplish your hearts desire.......with the Lords help!

Exodus 15:26b  For I am the Lord who heals you

Dear Heavenly Father, I lift up the Girls who are asking you for help today.  I thank you Lord that you are hearing their cries of frustration and pain.  You say in your Word that whosoever asks, will receive.  I thank you for your unconditional love for us.  I thank you that even as we know you love us, we still desire to make positive changes in our lives.  We ask for your help, for your healing.  And we receive that help and healing, In Jesus' name.  Amen.

Love you all-
Jen
