The Pierced Heart

Good Morning Girls!  Are you ready to start taking a closer look at your convictions, condemnations, and simple observations?
Acts 2:37 Peter's words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and the other apostles, "Brothers, what should we do?"

To me, that is a perfect example of being convicted of something.  Peter is talking after he had just been baptized in the Holy Spirit and those who were listening to him felt a piercing in their heart.  You know that feeling.  The feeling that momentarily takes your breath away and makes you say "ouch" for just a moment.  The funny thing is, even though you feel it, and it doesn't always feel good, at the same time, you experience a greater feeling.  That feeling is the desire to change.  It is sometimes a feeling of excitement about this new revelation.  You know from the start that it is not going to be easy, but you don't care.  You don't care because you want to do whatever it is you are feeling led to do.  Your response is "Lord, what should I do?"
In my opinion that is the best type of conviction to experience.  It is cut and dry.  You know as you know right then and there, that you need to change, and that you know you are going to.  It comes with an instant confidence in success.  It comes with a feeling of "I don't know how I am going to do this, but I just know that I am".  I love those moments!
The gift that makes these moments so special is not only the fact that they are revealed to us by the Holy Spirit, but the fact that we feel from the moment of conviction that the grace of God has been placed on us in abundance to carry out whatever this new conviction is.  It's almost like we feel a super charge of adrenaline and "can do" thinking.  It is empowering.  It is awesome.  It is real.  I could go on, but I feel like leaving you with that warm fuzzy feeling of fresh empowered conviction.

Take some time today to ask the Lord if you have walked away from a prior conviction that had you asking "Lord, what should I do?".  Ask Him to put the desire back in your heart.  Ask Him to pour on the grace in abundance so you may get back to that "can do" thinking that you once had.  And if you don't feel the Lord convict you of anything......don't turn around and convict yourself of something!  If you get no response from the Lord today, it may mean there is something on the way.  Don't go getting all jazzed up about something you are not anointed to do and then not have the eyes to see what He has coming your way.  Do you receive that?

Love you all-
