Day 14
Day 14
The Place of Safety
Come back to the place of safety, all you prisoners who still have hope! I promise this very day that I will repay two blessings for each of your troubles – Zechariah 9:12
The first week of any new health and fitness program can be stressful. You now fully understand the commitment it is going to take to reach your goals. You may be feeling overwhelmed, and exhausted, both physically and mentally. You may feel sick and tired of writing down, measuring, and recording everything you eat and drink. Or perhaps your body is fatigued because you have sore muscles in places you didn’t even know existed.
Perhaps you are not feeling tired. You are energized and excited because you already feel better. Your week went smoothly. You fit in all your workouts and your eating was perfect. You are ready to head into the next week.
Whether you feel you need it or not, I recommend you take today to rest and refresh. Your mind and body need a day of rest from the constant focus of your food and exercise plan. It needs to focus on the One who gives us strength and encouragement to head into the next week of challenges.
Spend some time today resting in the Lord. Relax in the safety of his presence. Meditate on the promises he has for you. Promises not only for your health, but in all areas of your life. Think of the blessings he has in store for you who remain hopeful that your troubles (and trouble spots) will be redeemed two fold!
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for getting me through this week. I thank you for helping me make right choices. I thank you for helping me move forward when I didn’t make good choices. I thank you for being my place of safety. I thank you for breaking me free from the prison food has had over me. I thank you for the blessings you have in store for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen
