Drum Roll Please...........

Good Morning Girls!  Yesterday I left you all with a little teaser- telling you that I had a new word for us to study that I was really excited about.  I also told you that if you just couldn't wait until today, I would tell you the word.....if you e-mailed me.  For those of you that did, I believe you are going to enjoy this the most, as I have a feeling you will see how this word works in your life!
This word is mentioned 107 times in the New Living Translation and 103 times in the King James version.  It is first mentioned in Genesis 15, the first book of the Bible, and is last mentioned in Revelation 22- which just happens to be the last chapter of the last book of the Bible!  What that means to me is that this is not an Old Testament or New Testament only truth.  This is something that the Lord said to Abram from the get go and still says to us as Christians today.  In between those two it is said over 100 more times.  I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I feel like this is something worth taking a closer look at.
Now I am sorry to say that I still haven't really had much time to study.  I have however had this word on my brain for the last 24 hours....it was even responsible for half of my dreams last night.  I'll share with you a little of what's been stirring in my mind so far.  First of all- there are 3 Webster's definitions of the word we will look at.  Each definition affects us in different ways.  Each one can have a positive or negative impact on us at times.  I believe each one is referenced in the Bible.  I believe this word is responsible for why I do many of the things I do.....both good and bad.  I believe this word can change habits and behavior that are both positive and negative.  I believe we are all susceptible to this word....some of us more than others.  There are books, both Christian and secular written specifically on this word (I looked it up at the library yesterday).  There are countless psychological philosophies and experiments based solely on this word.  I also believe it is what Paul was referring to in his Romans 7:15-25 rant about doing the opposite of the things he wants to do.  Yes, he talks about it in terms of the sinful nature verses life in Christ.....but I believe Paul was also experiencing the effects of this word, just like many of us do.
So as you can see, there is a lot to think about.  Are you starting to see why I am so excited?  The problem is, I am not quite ready to give you the word.  I am hoping to get started tomorrow, but it may be difficult as the kids and I are heading to Wisconsin Dells for a few days.  So, I'm sorry, but once again you will simply have to wait.....unless of course you e-mail me at jgilbert2@comcast.net.  I would hate to drive anyone bonkers after all!  Here's a bonus- if you e-mail me the correct word, you get a special prize.  Remember it is used in Genesis 15 and Revelation 22 in the New Living Translation.

Love, peace, and a seekers heart to you all,
Jen

Matthew 7:8  For everyone who asks, receives.  Everyone who seeks, finds.  And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
