Blurred Vision?
Good Morning Girls! My eyes are straining to see your promises come true. When will you comfort me? How many of you can relate to those words written in Psalm 119:82? How many of you have been looking and looking and waiting and waiting for the promises of God to unfold in your life? How many of you have been looking so long that you can no longer see straight? How many of you have been looking so long that it feels like your eyes are crossed and at times things look fuzzy and unclear? How many of you have been looking and waiting for so long that you forgot what you are even looking and waiting for?
You know, this verse could be received two different ways. The first one is the way I felt initially when I read it. And that is "No kidding......when will you comfort me? How much longer do I have to sit and wait and look for your promises to come true?!". And that's fair. We all have days when we feel tired of waiting and would like all the "stuff" in our lives to be fixed. But as these words settled in my heart, they began to mean something different to me. Instead of me thinking "You go Girl" (even though it was a man who wrote these words) in response to the writers growing impatience, I started thinking "Wow. These words were written thousands of years ago. People have had "stuff" in need of fixing by God since the very beginning. People have always needed rescuing from the Lord. Everyone at some time or another feels worn out from the wait." And that is when these words actually brought me comfort. God loves us so much that He wanted us to know that we are not alone. Since the fall of man, man has experienced long periods of waiting from time to time. And more importantly, throughout these thousands of years, God has remained faithful. He continues to pour out His unfailing love and favor to those of us who seek Him......even if our vision gets blurred at times.
So Girls, if the "stuff" in your life has got you cross-eyed, don't lose heart. Your time will come. Your promises will be fulfilled. You have reason to have hope- just like the author of Psalm 119 did.
Psalm 119:81 I am worn out waiting for your rescue, but I have put my hope in your word.
Love, thanks, and a clear vision of hope to you all,
Jen
