Free Fallin'
Good Evening Girls! So I told you all yesterday that I was going to share with you some tips and wisdom in regards to New Years Resolutions. I have some things to share in no particular order.
Well this morning, Renee started talking about goals. More specifically she talked about the goals that we have tried and tried over the years to set...only to fall short. She talked about how many people get to the point of anticipating failure to the extent that they don't even bother to try anymore.
She talked about Getting Back Up Again.......
Well I've got something to say about that. After all- I am the Queen of Getting Back up Again! Seriously, I believe I "get back up" nearly every day! I am an expert on getting back up. Do you know what it takes to be an expert on getting back up?
It takes a whole lot of falling down!
Think about it- If you haven't fallen down, you have no need to get back up!
I fall a lot. You know why? I believe I fall a lot because I would rather be falling than sitting bored off my hiney. I would rather have to get back up than live a life of predictable safety. Sure, there are times when I am laying sprawled out on the floor, prior to getting back up, that I may cry "why am I here again.....I hate this.....where did I go wrong?.....why can't I be normal like everyone else?......" I eventually quit my tantrum.....and I get back up!
The truth is- I have tried playing it safe. It doesn't suit me. When I am not striving for a least one new goal, I feel like I am floating around ungrounded and lacking any sense of purpose. Call me crazy....that's just how this Girl rolls!
I'd like to share with you a little secret about falling down. The more you do it, the less it hurts! The more you do it, the easier it is to get up. The more you do it, you learn to anticipate a fall as it's coming, and you actually catch and prevent a few along the way.
However, you will never learn the fine art of Getting Back Up...until you learn the finer art of being willing to fall!
I highly recommend you let go and give it a whirl.......
Proverbs 24:16 The godly may trip seven times (sometimes in the same day), but they will get up again!
Love, faith, and free falling to you all-
Jen
