Scabs and Scars......
Hey Girls! Last Tuesday I told you I was the "Queen of Getting Back Up". Who would have guessed that just 4 days later I would find myself sprawled out flat on my face once again. I am not talking a little boo-boo or scrape here. I am talking dirt in the teeth from hitting the ground so quickly and unexpectedly flat on my face falling! If I would have bandaged all the wounds I would have looked like a mummy!
But here I am......and I am better than ever if I do say so myself......
Now don't get me wrong here. I am not saying there are not some scabs and scars here. But there are a couple of things I have learned along the way about scabs and scars. The scars.... well they are simply reminders of previous experiences. The are battle wounds that show you were at least in the fight. They show you were willing to take something on. They are opportunities to stop and think about what happened....to learn how to better protect yourself next time.
And the scabs, well the scabs are the wounds that aren't completely healed. They are fine as long as you don't touch them. As long as you don't think about them. And don't you dare pick at them, or the blood with flow fresh with pain, bitterness, and sorrow, and you will have to start the healing process all over again. Best to just cover up the scab for awhile until it heals completely into a scar. Once it's a scar it is safer to examine and reflect upon. Until then, praise the Lord for the parts of you that are still intact!
So Girls, if you are feeling bruised, battered, scarred and scabbed, don't give up.....GET UP! The scars show you were in the fight. They show you went for, stood for, or fought for something you believed in. They show you are tough.....and tough is good.

Joel 3:9 Message Announce this to the godless nations: Prepare for battle! Soldiers at attention! Present arms! Advance! Turn your shovels into swords, turn your hoes into spears. Let the weak one throw out his chest and say, "I'm tough, I'm a fighter." Hurry up, pagans! Wherever you are, get a move on! Get your act together. Prepare to be shattered by God! (don't you just love the Old Testament when your feeling feisty?)
Love, thanks, and band-aids from heaven to you all-
Jen
