what do Real Women Do?
Good Morning Girls! Remember when my blog was consistent and predictable, occurring Monday- Friday week after week? Remember when I would announce a topic and then actually write about that topic? Remember when I would stick with the topic and see it through until the end before randomly hopping over to something else? Aaahhhh....those were the days.......
Yes, I remember those days well. It may surprise you to learn that I have been trying to get back to those predictable, on task days for over a year now. I get many great ideas and get all excited to pursue them, and then WHAM! out of nowhere something derails me. I fall off the writing radar or I pop up with a totally random blog. I find it to be a little distressing and somewhat torturous. I often feel sorry for my few loyal readers, like I continue to disappoint you and drag you on my roller coaster life....as if you don't already have enough to deal with in your own life!
Now I could let these repeated "failures" bring me to a point where I simply throw my arms up and say "that's it....I quit". I could plead with you all to stop reading my drivel and find someone who is consistent, predictable, and may even know what they are talking about! I could stop the roller coaster long enough for you all to get off. I could....but...........
My domain name is whatrealwomendo. And guess what? Real women get derailed. Real women desire to have it all together, but often don't. Real women live in a whirlwind from time to time. Real women have dreams and goals, yet fail to achieve them. Real women yell at their children and give their husbands the silent treatment. Real women eat their kids Halloween and Easter candy. Real women cry, and pout, and act like 13 year old brats from time to time.
Do you know what else real women do?
Real women purpose not to do all the things listed in the previous paragraph! Real women admit we can not do it all. Real women lean on each other for support and encourage one another; giving hope that each day we will yell, pout, and cry a little less.....and pray, praise, and pursue a godly life more! Real women get up each day wanting to be the best wife, mom, daughter, and friend they can be.....but are well aware they are going to need a little help (okay, a lot of help) along the way.
So maybe I am not the Joyce Meyer of daily devotions. Maybe my writing and purpose are taking me in a different direction than I previously thought. Maybe I am simply here to tell my fellow Real Women....my Girls....that they are not alone! Maybe it's okay that when you log on each day, you have no idea what you are going to get. Life is sort of random and unpredictable that way.....why can't my writing be as well?
That's the way I am choosing to look at it! I will continue to try to put my life in perfect order. However, I will not wait until I do, before I try to offer you all a Word to help you through the day. I have a feeling that if I waited......you would never hear from me again!
Though the spirit of perfectionism that tries to run (and ruin) my life tells me I should apologize to you all for falling short, I am telling it to shut up! You know why? Because one of the most important things a Real Women does not do...... is apologize for being real!
When we get together (at the computer each day), I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours. (and trust me I am!)- Romans 1:12
