Delivered!
Good Morning Girls! In Jesus name I WILL get consistent with my blogging again! Can I get an Amen?!
We left off a week ago with my final D letter devil device; dead. Due to a series of disappointments I found myself depressed and oppressed and one Saturday morning it all came to a head and I found myself spiritually dead.
But God is good! God is faithful- even when we are not! He knew just what I needed and He knew just how to do it. What I needed was todays letter D.......
Delivered: rescue from bondage or danger
I was in bondage to the oppression and depression that had come due to the series of disappointments. I was in danger of losing my faith altogether.
After my awful Saturday, I woke up Sunday morning feeling good. I felt better than I had in a long time. I was excited to go to church- I had the "feeling" something good was going to happen. I had the kind of praise and worship experience where I was in tears by the end and could have gone home right there I felt so much better. But God prefers loving us to the fill and had more planned for me.
Pastor Mac preached on living in fear and it spoke straight to my heart. He even said some of the exact things Tom had said to me the day before (and it didn't even irritate me-Lol). I took in every word and was able to see just how captive I was to the fear and also, how I had gotten there.
At the end of the service he asked all those who were living under the oppression and depression of fear to raise there hands and he prayed over us all. Though I had already felt delivered it was a sweet confirmation- as if the Lord was saying "Just in case you start to have doubt, remember this moment- for you have been delivered and set free!!!"
It says in 2 Corinthians 1:10 And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us
Do you notice something here? It says he will continue to rescue us. Why would say he will continue to rescue us? Isn't it enough that he rescues us by forgiving our sins and blessing us with eternal life with him in heaven? Isn't it enough that he rescues us from the grip sin has on us? Isn't it enough that he has rescued us from the pit and brought us to himself?
Nope. It's not enough.
You see, we will continue to need rescuing, continue to need deliverance, as long as we are stuck here in this world. The enemy is using all of those D word devices to try to tear us away and deny what we know in our hearts to be true. He wants to kill us- spiritually and physically. We will need to be rescued time and again from the danger of the devils devices.
The good news is we have been equipped with all the tools we need to fight the devils devices! If we use these tools we can fight the good fight of faith and stop the enemy in his tracks before we start slipping from discouragement to disappointment to despair and depression. We can reduce the amount of times we need rescuing by utilizing the tools God has given us.
You want to know something else cool about the tools God has given us?
They start with the letter D!
We will start with them tomorrow (please God let me write again tomorrow!)
Love, Grace, and a day of Deliverance to you all!
