Discernment
Good Morning Girls! I only have a quick minute or two this morning but I want to wrap up our "D" word series.
Last week I encouraged you all to DELVE (search deeply and laboriously) into the Word of God. The more you spend time in God's Word, the more grounded you will be in your faith. Trust me, it is not enough to go to church and say a few rote prayers each day. You can thoroughly know your Word inside and out and still be shaken by trials and tribulations (ask me how I know!).
However, the more you know and understand who our Father is, and just how much he loves us, the more you will be able to stand firm in the most fiery trials.
You will also develop today's letter "D".
Discernment: the act or process of exhibiting keen insight and good judgement
Having discernment is like taking preventative care to keep you healthy and safe. Having good judgement and keen insight often save you from entering into situations that will bring about trouble and pain.
You are more aware of the red flags and the still small voice of the Holy Spirit inside of you. God will bring bring you a word to help you in a decision you are making. You will make sound decisions based on the Truth rather than decisions based on relieving pressure. You will go against the worlds advice if neccesary to stick with what you know in your heart to be true, regardless of how crazy it seems to the rest of the world.
I wish I could write more but I don't have time. While you are delving into the Word gaining discernment, I will be delving into the best seller "Principles of Real Estate in Minnesota". I will be in class all week and will not be blogging. Please pray that I do not stick my pencil through my eyeball out of pure boredom!
We are done with the letter D. Not sure where the Lord is bringing us next. Just know that it will be good!
Ephesians 1:16-17 I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you may grow in your knowledge of God
Love, Grace, and a Discerning day to you all-
Jen
