Ladies Start Your Engines!
Happy New Years Girls! Remember me? I am the Girl who once upon a time had life pretty well figured out (so I thought). I was living a fairy tale life living happily ever after....
Now my castle is dirty, the dragons are breathing fire on me nonstop, and when I look into the mirror I definitely do not see the fairest of them all......
But despite all that, I am still the Girl living happily ever after....and I AM BACK.....oh yeah....I AM BACK!
It's hard to know where to start after taking a 3 month hiatus. Actually I would say a 2 year hiatus with some glimmers of inspiration here and there is more accurate. It's hard to know where to start because I have so many different (and sometimes random) thoughts and revelations dwelling in my heart (which is often worn on my sleeve)!
In fact, I would say not knowing where to start is one of the things that has kept me from writing for the last few months. The desire has been there. The time has been there (if I really wanted it to be). The words were floating around in my heart somewhere (if I would just sit down long enough to get them out).
But knowing where to start.....that always eluded me. So day after day would go by and there was still no blog.
"Maybe tomorrow".........
Not knowing where to start. Has that ever prevented you from taking action? It happens to me all the time. It happens whenever I decide to get back in good shape and clean up my eating. My search for the "perfect plan" ends up in a lot of searching and little or no action.
I may not have the "perfect" words, the "perfect" work out, or the "perfect" eating plan, but do you know what this message and the workout I plan to do after, AND the fact that I did not eat any cookies today are?
They are A STARTING POINT! A starting point.......its the first step in reaching a goal.
You cannot attain what you haven't even started.
How's that for profound?! Told ya I was back!
Girls, you want to "Resolute" something but can't come up with the perfect plan? Just start. Do something. Anything. Anything more than you did yesterday. Just step out in faith and do it. Don't judge it. Don't critique it. Don't think about it. Just do it (do I have to pay Nike for that?). Start! And see how you feel in the morning........
I believe that sometimes we need to take a step AND THEN the Lord will show us the path. It is easier to steer a moving vessel than one that is sitting still. So Girls.....start your engines (you may have to dust them off first) and move that vessel....and trust that the Lord will steer you!
Proverbs 3:6 Seek his will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take
